The Nerdy Girlie and SuperSpaceChick started Five Fandom Friday as a community building project, and we jumped on board. We just love things numbered in fives, so we’ve added their topics to our Five Things feature. Check out this week’s #Fandom5 under the cut.
This was a hard one. We’re five different people living in different places, so finding a way to style one item wasn’t really possible. We had to think a bit outside the box, and decided to choose our favorite looks for each of the members of One Direction. Then Wednesday, Zayn Malik decided to leave the group. There was a discussion of changing our topic, but then we decided to stick with it because he’ll always be a member of One Direction in our hearts. OT5 forever.

Everything I love about Harry is encompassed in the gif above. Long hair? Check. Chest out and tatts on display? Check and check. Pink mouth that MAC should turn into a lipstick shade? Check. Lots of jewelry and a busy print on the shirt? You got it. This is what I call Harry’s glam rock evolution look. In the last 6 months he’s really ramped up his styling, and it fits his new long curls. I love everything about him, but this look is so fitting on him. He just looks happy when he has on a shirt that has enough colors to be seen from space, and maybe a gold or sequins boot. He can style himself however he wants so long as it keeps a smile on that pretty face.

My god, I adore Niall. I always think that I know how I feel about him, then he does something above and beyond and I become a flaily mess. There are so many looks of his that I adore, but this is one of my favorites. This was one of my favorite Harry/Niall interviews, ever, and that is mostly due to how good Niall looks. Look at him! That blonde hair, those white bare arms, then you have those eyes that just light the hell up. And don’t get me started on that mouth. This is a simple, but lethal look. LOOK AT HIM. I saved this as NialleyefuckHoran and I’ll tell ya right now, nothing sums up this look better.

Oh Zayn. Beautiful Zayn. Zayn Malik is far prettier than any human rightly ought to be, and Zayn with a beard is pure aesthetic perfection. I thought it would be a struggle to find the perfect picture of Zayn that captures the apex of his gorgeousness. But really every picture does. This just happens to be my favorite.
Yes, I know Zayn Malik is no longer a member of One Direction, but his soul-moving high note in “You and I” and his beautiful vocal runs will forever be a part of the One Direction sound. I prefer not to speculate on the reasons for his leaving, but I can say that as a fan I’ve always felt a bit protective of Zayn because he seemed to be the member of One Direction the least comfortable with fame. Assuming this was Zayn’s decision and that stress finally took its toll, I feel oddly proud of him for stepping away from something so massive because he felt like he needed to. Sometimes we continue doing things that are bad for us–health-wise, career-wise, whatever–and it takes a lot of courage to take a step back before we fall. Cheers, Zayn.

I always forget how many feelings I have for Liam Payne. Usually I’m reminded of them when I see them perform live, but this time it was scrolling through Google image results. Originally I thought I’d choose buzzcut!Liam, because I loved that hair on him even when most of the fandom didn’t, but then I realize my favorite Liam is happy Liam, no matter what his hair looks like. He should always be happy. He has one of those faces that when he’s happy, he’s literally emitting sunshine, but when he’s sad or pouting it’s like his soul has been crushed. And he always makes me feel whatever he’s feeling just based on his facial expression. Anyway. As far as looks go, this picture might encompass all of the things I love about Liam. That hot ass arrow tattoo, simple white tee shirt, and that scruff. YUM. I’d maybe prefer him if he pulled his pants up (or all the way off, let’s be real) but otherwise this is my perfect Liam look.

…bonus bb!Louis sitting on top of Harry AND stripes. This picture pretty much encompasses everything I love about Louis Tomlinson. I have a folder titled “Louis Goddammit” and in that folder (along with 345890328490235 random pictures of this fool) are two sub folders, one called “Louis Gets His Hair Did” and one called “TOES.” idk what that says about me and we probably shouldn’t examine it too closely. ANYWAY, my point is, Louis Tomlinson is basically my dreamboat crush come true because he never wears socks and it’s a 50/50 chance as to whether or not he’s wearing shoes. Here for it. I was most active in the 1D fandom at the beginning – WHEN IT ALL STARTED *weeps* – and will always have a very soft spot for the Louis who wore suspenders and stripes, ran around in moose slippers, and just fucking glowed.
